Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials said traffic was reduced to a single lane on Friday on the Parkway East after a landslide.

PennDOT said all but one of the westbound lanes of Interstate 376 approaching the Squirrel Hill Tunnel were closed after the slide caused trees to fall into the roadway near the tunnel entrance.

Officials said the single, right lane closure is expected to remain in place for several hours while geotechnical engineers assess the hillside and crews complete debris removal.

Drivers are asked to use caution and to expect significant delays.
